Roadmap Added to the blog

As promised, I added a roadmap post regarding Grand Rogue Auto so you guys can ignore the various Design Documents I have written so far and still have a good idea about what the game is supposed to be. This is not a definitive document however, things are still missing and I know that some parts probably won't make sense if you have no idea how to build a full game (or software) from scratch. However it's still better than nothing,.

By the way v0.2.1 will be out Monday with the item editor included (no effect editor, though, yet). A few gang members will also be here to spice things a little bit as I am done fixing NPC on NPC issues.

  1. Hey Serial
I used to play X3 and X3 TC and by far the pirates guild was my favorite. Thanks for giving me the ability to waste hours of my summer. :)

But I would like to say this is coming along very, very nicely. What I like about this is that it is alot easier laid out than dwarf fortress. (my opinion) I am looking forward to this and I am tracking it.

Hey btw is there anything I can do to help or support you and this project? (although the amount of coding I've done is minimal (EX. Goacbc's freeplay after MQ for Fallout new vegas) I still hope there is a way to help you. Thanks

  2. It's always nice to see people from my former home :)

I am very far from anything remotely as complete as DF, but you seem to get the idea. First game (GRA) will simulate a city, second game will do a world, and the 3rd project based on this engine will be something relatively similar to DF, but in space.

Oh btw, I have your freeplay plugin installed on my New Vegas copy. It helped me with the 'collect all unique stuff' OCD I have with this game. ^^

Anyway, I'm not really looking for help at the moment, but thank you for asking. Coding-wise it's Delphi and it's not really a good project to start learning this programing language. Sound-wise, I already have someone to add music and effects. Pixel artists are welcome, though. Free advertisement would be good, but it is a bit too early to start referencing the game in boards and repositories until the economic and faction stuff is ready.

    Cheers,
    SK.

  4. How do i close a door or save/load my character? I think you should note it somewhere in-game that it costs 4$ to use fridge and cash too for hospital beds, it doesn't seem to say it that we spend cash in those places.

  5. Save and Load features aren't implemented yet. It's always a pain to code and I've to finish a few things before writing these. Should be available in 0.3, though.

Pricing of using objects will be fixed/removed as soon as the concept of trespassing is understood by NPC and the police.
